About this site

Test the setting. Show the boundary.

AI Switch Off documents practical ways to reach regular web results when search products place AI summaries first.

Who writes it

The site is written by Ethan. Ethan works in SEO and generative-engine optimization (GEO) and follows how AI features change Google Search. I do not claim a browser-company role or special credential. The first guide is based on Chrome 154 tests on macOS and an iPhone 17, performed on Oct 4, 2026. The desktop test used a fresh profile and retained screenshots as evidence. On the iPhone, Google Web from this site appeared under Chrome’s Recently visited section after one fresh Google search; selecting it opened Web results with udm=14 and no AI Overview at the top in that test.

How guides are made

I separate direct test results from browser or search-provider documentation. Each guide states the browser, date, and practical limits. If a device has not been tested, the page should say so instead of filling the gap with an assumption.

This site is independent and is not affiliated with Google, Chrome, Microsoft, Brave, or other products it may describe. There are currently no paid placements or affiliate links.
